An Italian wedding in Verona with flowers, herbs and fruit
Last May Georgina and Freddie, a lively English couple, decided to celebrate their wedding in Verona. They spent a lovely morning with relatives and friends wandering around and discovering the old part of Verona.
The religious ceremony took place in the magnificent Duomo. All the guests, together with the bride and groom, walked down the narrow cobbled streets of the impressive historical centre.
After the touching ceremony, the celebrations continued in a charming countryside villa, surrounded by a lavender scented garden, where they had dinner and danced till sunrise.
The couple wanted a very romantic and Italian country style reminiscent of a lighthearted summer Italian day. The palette was of soft and neutral tones, sandy, beige, pearly white, green and a touch of lavender and peachy apricot.
Georgina’s idea for the dinner decorations was to mix herbs with dried flowers, peaches and apricots. For the herbs we used rustic pots and ceramic beige bud vases for the flowers. Olive branches were laid along the imperial tables.
I used soft Baby’s Breath in all the decorations for a delicate romantic feel.
All in all an incredible day in typical Italian style!
