Kiara and Matt, from Canada and Austria respectively, chose Verona the city of Romeo and Juliet to celebrate their intimate summer wedding.
I first met them in June 2021 a year before their wedding. They had chosen the amazing typical Italian villa as the location for their wedding. Nestled among the hills overlooking Verona and just a short distance from the city it was a fairytale setting.
For their special day they planned to have a symbolic ceremony at the villa in the early afternoon and then a stroll and Spritz in one of the most beautiful piazzas of Verona. Just before sunset they would head back to the villa for an al fresco dinner under the stars.
Taking inspiration from the muted shades of the old houses along the river, Kiara composed her colour palette. This included different shades of cream from vanilla to toasted caramel, a splash of yellow, peach, apricot, pink, lilac and coral. The majestic coral peony was the main focus flower for all the floral arrangements.
Delicate champagne carnations, light apricotpink and lilac eustomas, warm yellow craspedias and soft creamy vanilla roses worked in perfect harmony. Some intriguing caramel curly docks together with golden velvet grass added softness and light to the whole floral design.
For the garden symbolic ceremony I created petite romantic bouquets for the chairs and a unique suspended floral arrangement from the stone arch.
The imperial tablescape design had a very natural, loose style, reminiscent of an English garden.
So I created natural hand-tied graceful bouquets in glass vessels along with unique petit arrangements in various bud vases. Being June peaches and apricots were the perfect summer fruits to match the palette. The Italian string lights and flickering candles added to the magic.
For her bridal bouquet Kiara went for a natural shaped bouquet which was perfect for her minimalistc wedding gown. Finally for the 3 bridesmaids I created fresh romantic bouquets.
Thanks to Katja and Simon for the beautiful images.
